What amazes me is how "off the map" the city of Bloemfontein is. Granted that coming from Cape Town I had a little snigger to myself as people referred to it as a "city" but, really, that's what it is.

I am particularly amazed at how unpublicised the property market is here in the City of Roses. I have a Google Reader search set on "bloemfontein property" and I have had about two result within the past month. And even though people may not be too interested in the booming bloemfontein property market [sarcasm intended], there is definitely a little gem awaiting exploitation.

Unbeknownst to me it would seem that this gem of a market is booming. Just the other day I had a very relieved sounding agent tell me that they had made a number of sales in the space of a single day. And this is only one of my many positive encounters in the past while.

So, what is my point? Well if you're looking to start an Estate Agency, now is the time. And what's more, people are buying. Must be the smell of recession in the air. People just can't wait to spend money they don't have. Seriously though, it seems that although we're in an official recession that we're already moving out of it. I think the property market is a good barometer of where a country is financially. And if the Bloemfontein property market is thriving then I'm guessing South Africa is in pretty good shape.

 Happy home finding.
